Scholars & Families

Through CFES, I’ve learned about applying to college, paying for college, and selecting the best college for me. – Eric DuShane, Crown Point Central School ‘15

CFES Scholars are MENTORS, LEADERS, and COLLEGE AMBASSADORS!

College For Every Student is here to help you develop essential skills – aspirations, self reliance, resilience, and leadership – that you need to meet your goals. It’s our mission to provide you with the resources, knowledge, and support to find YOUR personal pathway to college because YOU are One In A Million!

To gain these essential skills, you’ll be participating as a CFES Scholar in three core practices – Mentoring, Leadership Through Service, and Pathways to College & Career. You can learn more about the core practices in the CFES resources.

When you actively take part in the CFES program, you make a difference in your life and the lives of your peers by helping each other prepare for, gain access to, and succeed in college.

CFES Families Play An Important Role in Scholars’ College Success!

You can support your Scholar on his or her pathway to college by:

  • Learning about the college application process
  • Helping your Scholar understand the benefits of college
  • Attending financial aid workshops
  • Taking your Scholar to tour a college
  • Being aware of the steps your Scholar can take to prepare for college

CFES has created some resources to help you navigate the college process with your Scholar.

Not only did CFES prepare me for college, it helped me gain confidence and leadership skills. - Viviana Muniz, Richard R. Green High School of Teaching '15

Up until I got involved with CFES, I was questioning if college was for me. CFES helped me realize that I had the potential to succeed and do great things with my future.– Ryan McLennon, Frederick Douglass Academy II ’14, State University of NY at Plattsburgh ‘18
