2011 National ConferenceCollege: Now More than Ever - November 4-5Hilton Burlington Hotel, Burlington, VT Join us at the Hilton Burlington on Friday and Saturday, November 4-5, for the 2011 CFES National Conference, "College: Now More than Ever." Wes Moore will kick off this year's event. Youth advocate, Army combat veteran, promising business leader, and author, Moore will share his own life experiences and his efforts to help other young people to redirect their lives. Saturday's featured speaker, Edward L. Ayers, is president of the University of Richmond (UR). Since his appointment in 2007, Ayers has led the UR community in the development of The Richmond Promise — a five-point strategic plan aimed at making the University accessible to a diverse body of students, faculty, and staff who work together with the local community to create a distinctive and integrated learning experience for all. These guest speakers headline two days of workshops, panels, and discussions exploring the challenges and strategies for guiding low-income students onto a path to college success. The conference fee is $500 for an individual or $1,500 for a team of four. Hotel lodging is not included in the fee (please see below for details on making room reservations).
